Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu
This is such a comforting and hearty dish! Don't let the name fool you, my version is quick, simple and perfect for a busy person!
Ingredients
- 6 c shredded, cooked chicken meat (about 2 lbs)
- 6 oz ham, cut into bite size pieces (I use ham sandwich meat)
- 1 (8 oz) cream cheese block, softened
- 1 T Dijon or brown spicy mustard
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1 T white wine *optional
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1\2 t salt
- Swiss cheese slices
Instructions
- Place chicken in the bottom of a greased 9x13 backing dish. Layer ham evenly on top of chicken. Mix melted butter, cream cheese, mustard, lemon juice, white wine and salt until well mixed. Spread over chicken and ham. Lay one layer of Swiss cheese slices on top. Bake at 350F (176C) for 30-40 minutes, uncovered. Broil until the top is golden and bubbly, WATCHING CLOSELY!
