Pig Poppers
Want to be the MVC (Most Valueable Cook) at your next get together? This recipe will get you over the finish line!
Pig Poppers
Fix these for your next get together or tailgating and you will be the MVC (Most Valuable Cook)! They make the perfect little bite and they heat up very well!
Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz) package Little Smokies
- 13 to 14 slices of bacon, not thick cut slices
- 1 c brown sugar
- Dash of cayenne pepper
- Toothpicks
Instructions
- Soak toothpicks in water for an hour before using. This will prevent them for burning up in the oven.
- Cut each slice of bacon into thirds.
- Mix brown sugar and cayenne together in a bowl.
- Tightly wrap a third of a piece of bacon around a Little Smokie, roll in brown sugar cayenne mixture, securing with a damp toothpick.
- In order to catch the grease as it cooks, line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and insert a heat proof baking rack and place pig poppers on the baking rack.
- Bake at 350F (176C) for 40-50 minutes or until bacon is completely cooked and crisp.
Notes
These are also wonderful cooked in a smoker using the same time and temperture.
